MCF helped to fund Franklin Sherman Elementary School's new courtyard, which houses their outdoor learning classroom.

MCF awarded a grant to the McLean High School Theatre Boosters for the theater's new sound and lighting system.

MCF Leadership Council member, Mark Lowham, was the Grand Marshal of the McLean WinterFest Parade in 2010. MCF has supported WinterFest – McLean's only community parade -- for the past two years.

McLean Volunteer Fire Department
McLean Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Vehicle—In 2006 and 2007, MCF funded a total of $80,335 to the McLean Volunteer Fire Department to help purchase and equip a new heavy duty rescue vehicle. MCF and the MVFD share a history of community support: We rely upon them every day for our safety and MCF is proud to provide them with financial support that benefits us all. ... read more
Churchill Road Elementary School Outdoor Odyssey Program
Churchill Road Elementary School Outdoor Odyssey Program—MCF has awarded $9,000 to this innovative educational program about environmental stewardship and entrepreneurship. MCF funded seeds and a permanent greenhouse for growing plants, flowers and herbs to be sold by the students in summer. An additional matching grant helped to bring power to the greenhouse to extend the growing season. ... read more
Capital Hospice
Capital Hospice—MCF awarded $15,000 in grants to Capital Hospice to purchase lap top computers for nurses who provide end-of-life care services annually to more than 100 McLean-area patients. The lap top computers will increase the efficiency of care and record-keeping by hospice RNs who serve 96 percent of patients in the patients’ own homes. ... read more
Clemyjontri Park
Clemyjontri Park —MCF funded the Fitness ‘n’ Fun quadrant of Clemyjontri Park, a very special playground where children with disabilities can play side by side with other children. The $50,000 grant, approved in 2004, ranked among the largest single grants in the Foundation’s 28 year history. ... read more
McLean Project for the Arts
McLean Project for the Arts—MCF helped to fund the Gerry Brock entrance to the McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) headquarters in the McLean Community Center. MCF has donated nearly $60,000 to MPA projects and capital improvements and recently became a proud sponsor of the Children’s Art Walk at the annual MPA Artfest. McLean Volunteer Fire Department
Share of McLean—Over the years, MCF has awarded more than $36,000 to Share to purchase used trucks for transporting furnishings, clothing and food to families in our community who have fallen on hard times. MCF and Share have long been partners in helping McLean families in need. ... read more
Earth Sangha Rain Garden
Fairfax Trails & Streams—Over the years, MCF has funded more than $10,000 in Fairfax Trails and Streams projects, including restoration of the Burke Springhouse, a historical landmark in McLean.
